These two are MARRIED! Sarah and Michael had a beautiful Topsail Manor Beach Wedding at Topsail Beach this May surrounded by their closest friends and family. These two met online in the end of 2018 and got engaged on the beach in 2020! Topsail Beach has always been special to them. They decided to get married there, and it was a fun little getaway for everyone! I might be a little bias, but beach weddings are some of my FAVORITES! 🙂
One of my favorite parts about beach weddings is the atmosphere and how relaxed they are. That is how I remember this day. So fun, relaxing, and full of laughter from their hilarious kids and family. During their thank you speech at dinner, Sarah mentioned how she loves when worlds collide and seeing things come together. Their Topsail Manor beach wedding was a true testament to seeing these two families become one. We were able able to see how perfect Sarah and Michael are for one another.
I have so many favorite moments from this day. So, you’ll have to scroll all the way through their blog post to see more! Before the ceremony, Sarah gifted her mother a quilted handkerchief and a bridal portrait. This portrait was of her showing off part of her dress where she had her late step fathers shirt sewn in. She wanted her mom to know he was still going to help her walk down the aisle. We ALL cried when she showed her.
While the guys were getting ready before the ceremony, one of the kids asked what the purpose of the pocket square was. I jokingly mentioned he could use it for his tears during the ceremony. WELL, when Michael saw Sarah, he immediately starting crying, cue the heart strings! His son saw him and motioned to him to use his pocket square! It was the cutest little moment and I giggled the whole time seeing that.
One thing I do love about this location, is there are so many options for portraits!! The inside of Topsail manor is gorgeous for photos and has a view of the beach. For bride and groom portraits following their ceremony, we attempted to get lots of photos on the beach. But, that NC wind was hitting us like a sand storm out there! We were able to get a few fun shots of them together walking on the beach. Then we did a ton more photos on the sound side of the island. There it was MUCH less windy, and we were able to soak up a little more of that sunset.
Congratulations again to Sarah and Michael! They are truly the perfect pair for one another. I am so excited for them to experience the joys of marriage together! Welcome to the #marriedclub!!!
See some of my favorite images from their Topsail Manor Beach Wedding below. You’ll also find a list of all the amazing vendors from the Wilmington area they used!!
Their poolside beach ceremony was decorated in beautiful lush greenery, white florals, and pampas grass. I loved the unique set up of their L-shaped ceremony. True to their fun personality, Sarah and Michael did rock paper scissors to see who would share their vows first. When they went to share their first kiss, their wedding party had set off two big confetti canons. This made for such a fun first kiss photo!
Sarah and Michael danced the night away with their friends and family under string lights. They shared some delicious mini cheesecakes, bundt cakes, and ended the night with a light up wand exit. PS – This is a great and fun alternative to a sparkler exit when it’s too windy or your venue doesn’t allow sparklers!
