Emily and Adam are finally MARRIED!!! They had their perfect spring wedding day in downtown Raleigh at the historic and classic Merrimon-Wynne House. This is one of my favorite venues for weddings! Emily and Adam actually went to the same high school together, but didn’t meet one another until their freshman year of college at NC State. They dated for 7 years, and then Adam got down on one knee to propose one weekend at the beach. These two are the sweetest couple and absolutely perfect for one another!
When I first chatted with Emily, she told me she LOVED weddings! So, I can only imagine getting to plan her dream wedding with Amanda Blair by Design here at Merrimon Wynne was so much fun for her! There were so many sentimental touches throughout the day she incorporated. They had butterflies around in honor of her grandmother, lace wrapped around her bouquet from her grandmothers wedding dress, her custom veil made by her mother, and a special portrait she gifted her father of her wearing a wedding dress when she was maybe five years old. There was so much love poured into this wedding day, and they had such a fun group to celebrate them on this day!
One of my favorite moments from Emily and Adam’s wedding day was their bride and groom first look on the porch. Emily had the idea to have their wedding party watch through the windows on the porch to incorporate them. They have all been friends together for a long time, so this was such a special way for them to be a part of the first look too. You can see them huddled around the window peeking through to catch a glimpse of Adam when he cries as he sees Emily for the first time.
They held their ceremony in the carriage house with a beautiful floral backdrop and candles. Their officiant Kevin Holland did a wonderful job telling more about their story and how these two have grown together over the years. I always love listening to stories told, inside jokes between the couple, and the vows they read to one another. There was an echo of cheers in the carriage house as soon as these two were pronounced husband and wife!
After a spring cocktail hour on the lawn of the Merrimon Wynne House, guests were seated in the carriage house again. This time it had been transformed into a beautiful reception room lit with candles and decorated with spring florals along farm tables. It always amazes me when vendors do a room flip for wedding days, and this was one flawless!
They got to dance the night away at their reception with their friends and family. They had a full dance floor, which made it even more fun! We closed out the night with a sparkler exit from the front doors of the house to celebrate, and then they got to continue the party all night long!
