These two are finally married!!! This wedding was extra special to me because Foster and Ashley are such great friends of Spencer and I! Spencer and Foster have been friends for YEARS and grew up in scouts together. I was also friends with Foster in High School when we did marching band together, so getting to capture his and Ashley’s wedding day at Virginia International Raceway was so much fun!
Foster loves racing, and when he and Ashley took a trip up to VIR together before they got engaged, they knew they would want to get married there. I have never heard of getting married at a race track until their wedding, and it was so cool! One of the fun perks of getting married at VIR was right after their ceremony, they headed to the track to take a victory lap together as husband and wife. How fun!
We started out the wedding day with the girls getting ready in their villa. After hair and makeup was done, Foster sent over a video to Ashley to watch the morning of the wedding. He had taken a series over videos over the course of their engagement telling Ashley sweet things and how excited he was to see her walk down the aisle. Ashley, and all the bridesmaids cried when she played this!
Before the ceremony, Ashley and Foster did a bride and groom first look. I recommend first looks to ALL of my couples, because it is the absolute best way to get the most out of your wedding day, spend time together, and maximize your photos. Because they did a first look, we did all their photos before the ceremony and they were able to go straight from their ceremony to the race track, and then spend time alone with champagne to celebrate and take it all in. Their first look at the Tavern was so sweet, and they read their personal vows to one another after. I was crying behind the camera the whole time!
One of the other fun things they planned for their wedding day was CONFETTI! When Foster and Ashley told me they had 20 confetti cannons for their wedding day, I was so excited! After being announced husband and wife, they did a celebratory confetti pop exit down the aisle! Ceremony exits are so much fun!
Foster and Ashley, thank you SO much for trusting me as your friend and photographer to capture your beautiful wedding day at Virginia International Raceway! I hope you enjoy getting to relive the best day ever with this little preview while on your honeymoon in Mexico!! Congratulations!!!
