Caroline and Peter

Caroline and Peter have known one another since MIDDLE school, and now they are married!! Their wedding day at Carolina Grove was absolutely wonderful, and I am so excited to share a glimpse of their beautiful wedding day with dusty blues and pink florals with you.

Peter and Caroline went to school together in the Chapel Hill area. They stayed long distance for a few years while Caroline went off to UNCW, and Peter went to the naval academy. Peter proposed last summer on the beach and then they jumped into planning their dream wedding with Ivory and Lace Events.

Caroline’s family lives just behind the beautiful forest where Carolina Grove hides in Hillsborough. Her dad told me that sometimes they sit outside and listen to the music at weddings, and now they got the chance to have their own turn!

They had a beautiful wedding with dusty blue colors, romantic florals, and gold details. The large white and airy barn nestled in the woods was the perfect place for such a grand event with 240 of their friends and family! They held their ceremony right outside the barn, with a large wooden cross at the center.

Some of my favorite moments to look for on the blog…

• The Barnett Family broach on Caroline’s bouquet. This broach has been passed down to Barnett family brides since the mid 1800’s! Caroline is the last Barnett in their family line to carry such a beautiful broach on her wedding day.

• Caroline and Peter opted not to do a first look, but they did do a first touch around the barn doors so they could pray together before the ceremony.
• The joyful tears shed from all their friends and family during the ceremony.
• The private last dance they got to share together before their grand sparkler exit!

Caroline and Peter, your wedding day at Carolina Grove was an absolute dream! I am so honored to have been your photographer and capture your engagement photos, bridal portraits, rehearsal dinner, and your wedding day! I hope you get to relive these special moments for years to come and it continues to bring you joy. You have the sweetest friends and family, and I loved getting to meet them all and celebrate you both!
