Callie & Reece

Callie and Reece are finally married!! These two had a beautiful summer wedding day at Carolina Grove in Hillsborough. This grand white barn was the perfect place for their romantic outdoor ceremony, with a beautiful space inside to party afterwards! Their wedding color was light purple, which I loved! Purple has been such a popular color for weddings this year and it is so beautiful and romantic to photograph.

These two met during college in the NC State Marching band. I also did marching band in college, so it warmed my heart to hear this!! Callie went to Meredith, and Reece was went to NC State. They both played the piccolo in the band together, and the rest is history! They both love spending their time at NC State home games and the beach.

One afternoon at the beach together, Reece was waiting at the point in Emerald Isle with a bouquet of flowers for Callie. He got down on one knee and proposed in one of their favorite places together, with her family there to cheer them on and capture the moment! Once they jumped into wedding planning, we got to celebrate some more in Raleigh with their engagement photos. Some of my favorite things to look for on the blog…

1. Callie wore her grandma’s wedding earrings, another grandma’s pearl necklace, and then she wore a sixpence in her shoe for luck that had been passed down to brides in her family.
2. Callie’s shoes were personalized with purple flowers embroidered on them, along with initials for her and Reece, and their wedding date. Reece also had his own monogrammed cuff links! I love seeing these small personal touches on wedding days!
3. Their wedding ceremony was outside Carolina Grove with a view of the woods. They had an AMAZING flower arch as the center point for their ceremony, and it was beautiful for all their portraits afterwards! I loved all of their flowers!
4. They opened their reception with some amazing choreographed dances! Callie and Reece wowed everyone with their dancing skills to Shut up and Dance with me, and her dress was just perfect for twirling!! Then both parent dances were also choreographed and I was SO impressed. They were having so much fun and it was so great to watch!
5. Callie’s great grandpa’s car was there for portraits and their grand sparkler exit. All of the couples in her family who have gotten married have left the wedding in that car, so it was so special for them to have that as a part of their wedding day and have something there to remember him by.
