Jaci and Connor are finally married and I’m so excited to share their summer wedding on the blog with you guys! They had a beautiful Wilmington Wedding at Connor’s home church, Christ Community Church. These two are the sweetest people you’ll ever meet and they have been such a joy to get to know and serve. They met their freshman year at UNCW through a mutual friend, and have been inseparable ever since.
Connor is from Wilmington, and Jaci is from Winston Salem. They started dating during the beginning of the pandemic, and would meet half way in Raleigh to see one another. We took their engagement photos at Dix Park in Downtown Raleigh, where Connor asked Jaci to be his girlfriend. It was so sweet to take them back to the place where it all began a month before the wedding day!
The day of their wedding, I was immediately welcomed with open arms by their sweet friends and family helping to decorate the church. They had so many people who helped them with their dream wedding day and there was SO much love for them. After some decorating, Jaci headed upstairs to get ready together in matching satin robes.
After Jaci got dressed in her beautiful wedding gown with her pearl veil (obsessed!), we headed outside to do a sweet first look moment with her dad so he could see her before they walked down the aisle together. These are always one of my favorite moments to capture on a wedding day!
Jaci and Connor opted not to do a first look on their wedding day, so they spent some time together holding hands around a wall together before the ceremony. This was a special moment for them to pray, get their nerves out, and read letters to one another. After snapping a quick photo of them, we all stepped away so they could truly have a private moment together and it was so sweet.
At the start of their ceremony, the skies opened up and it started downpouring and thundering. Luckily, the plan was always to get married and celebrate indoors so there was no need to change plans! We were able to take wedding party photos and family photos in the Sanctuary after the ceremony, and we stepped outside under the car port for a few just married bride and groom photos. It stormed for what felt like hours, and it finally cleared up during the reception for us to step outside and take a few more photos before we lost the sun.
During their reception they danced the night away with their friends and family in the sanctuary! Their wedding reception was so fun to see and there was SO much dancing and singing! They ended their night with a bubble send off. Just as they reached the end of their bubble exit tunnel, Connor had coordinated a firework send off to surprise Jaci. It was so cool, and a fun surprise for everyone!
Jaci and Connor, congratulations on starting your new life together as husband and wife! Thank you so much for trusting me to capture your wedding day. Your wedding day was amazing, and it was so clear that you two are perfect for one another. It’s obvious to me, and all your guests, that you two are the best of friends and soulmates. There’s nothing better in life than getting to marry your best friend!
