I hope that every couple gets to experience the kind of joy that Laura and Ben had on their wedding day. These two are best friends and completely soulmates, and their beautiful Childress Vineyards wedding day was full of so much joy and happy tears!
Ben and Laura met in a class together at NC State. They started going on study dates together, and eventually Laura nudged him into asking her on a real date. They continued to date throughout grad school and when the time came for these two to get married they jump straight into planning their dream fall wedding.
Laura is from Lexington, NC and Ben is from Delaware. They planned a beautiful fall wedding at Childress Vineyards right near her home, and got married in the same church her parents did. Seeing Ben’s eyes water as he saw Laura walk down the aisle with the biggest smile was the sweetest moment!
After their ceremony everyone headed back over to Childress Vineyards for a cocktail hour on the patio. They did an extended cocktail hour so we had time to do all of their photos, and then the wedding party made their entrances straight into cocktail hour! Ben and Laura kicked off the party with a champagne tower, one of my new favorite wedding trends.
While guests were getting seated in the reception space, Laura and Ben snuck away for a few more sunset portraits in the vineyard. Walking through the rows of vines in the fall was so beautiful, and these are some of my favorite portraits of them! We took photos all the way until the sun had set before heading into the reception to kick off the party.
During dinner, the guests were prompted to open a letter from the bride and groom. Ben and Laura wrote each one of their guests a letter to read during dinner. This goes to show how truly caring and thoughtful these two are – and it was the sweetest thing to see guests smiling ear to ear reading their letters.
One of my favorite reception photos of the night is from Ben and Laura’s first dance, where he picked her up and swung her around. It was so candid and I think it perfectly encapsulates the joy from their day. The party continued all night long and the dance floor was always packed! They ended their night with a ribbon wand exit, which was SO cute!
These are two of the sweetest people and getting to photograph their wedding day was an absolute honor. Their wedding day was full of so much joy, love, and laughter – the kind I hope every couple gets to experience on their special day!
