Lance and James

I had the opportunity over the summer to do an engagement session for Lance and James at their amazing wedding venue, Merrimon-Wynne! I loved getting to spend the summer afternoon with them and getting to hear all about their engagement and wedding plans.

Lance and James are both from the Raleigh area, and after crossing paths many times over the years, they started dating in 2019. James started a kickball team and asked Lance to join, and that was all it took to kick off their forever together!

These two are absolutely perfect for one another, and they even planned on proposing around the same time without knowing! One Saturday while walking home from dinner in downtown Raleigh, Lance kneeled down outside the capitol building to propose. James immediately started laughing because he told Lance he also had a ring and was planning on proposing! Once they got home, James went ahead and proposed with the ring he chose for Lance. It sounded like the perfect evening, and such a sweet double proposal!

They’re having a summer wedding at the beautiful Merrimon-Wynne House and I’m so excited for these two to get married. They mentioned the loved the character of the venue and how it was beautiful on it’s own. The unique feel of this venue, along with the perfect location in downtown Raleigh, sold them!

We did their summer engagement session around the Merrimon-Wynne property, inside and outside. There are so many beautiful places for portraits at this venue. One of my favorite places to take portraits here on wedding days is the side porch overlooking the lawn. I had so much fun doing their engagement session and I know their wedding day will be so beautiful!
