Raleigh Engagement Photos at Historic Oak View | Kiana and Ben

Kiana and Ben

Kiana and Ben are the sweetest couple and I had SO much fun at their engagement session this spring! These two found me online after they had just moved to Raleigh, and wanted some fun photos to celebrate their engagement and use for Save The Dates. I’m SO glad they found me because we had the best time, and they got so many beautiful engagement photos at one of my favorite local parks, Historic Oak View!

How They Met

“Ben and I met when we were both working in Washington DC at our now favorite Irish Bar singing Irish Folk songs with friends. We continued to frequent this bar after dating and became our favorite spot for date night.”

How He Proposed

“The proposal is a true DC love story. We had friends in town for President’s Day so had a weekend packed with activities – the perfect way to slide in a proposal plan without me knowing! We started with dinner at a restaurant called Martin’s (where John F. Kennedy actually proposed to Jackie!) and then had a plan to walk around the monuments on the National Mall at night which is one of my favorite activities to do with visitors.

We started at the Washington Monument then made our way down to the Lincoln Memorial. Ben had recruited my best friend to help with the proposal and everything was going to plan until there was a crowd of people where Ben had originally wanted to propose. My best friend improvised and took us to a corner that was more secluded and lined us up for pictures like a normal night. Next thing I know I look over and Ben is down on one knee over looking the National Mall and asking me to be his wife! Even though it wasn’t exactly to plan, we both couldn’t imagine it any other way!”

These two are getting married on April 6, 2024 in Chattanooga, Tennessee! I just know they are going to have the perfect day with beautiful mountain views, and I am so excited for them! I loved getting to take their Raleigh engagement photos at Historic Oak View this spring! Congratulations, Kiana and Ben!
