Lauren and Ryan

These two are finally married and they have been SUCH a true joy to get to know and work with. I am so excited to share some highlights from their August wedding at her family’s church and The Angus Barn in Raleigh.

Lauren and Ryan met while in school at the University of South Carolina. They met through one of Lauren’s best friends and her husband! They first met at her friends house, and as their friendship grew, they started dating. When looking for the perfect place for their proposal, Ryan decided the place that started it all was his favorite. He set up flowers and candles all around their friends house where they first met, and proposed there! Lauren was so surprised, and these two have been in absolute bliss ever since!

When looking for a place to have their wedding, they decided on Lauren’s home church here in Durham, NC. This same church is where her parents got married, and it was so sweet for Lauren and Ryan to be able to take photos in the same chapel.

Pavilion at Angus Barn Wedding Reception

After their wedding ceremony at the church, everyone headed over to the Angus Barn in Raleigh for a cocktail hour and reception. This was the perfect place to host their friends and family! The pavilion is right next to a pond, which was perfect for photos with their bridal party and each other. While this venue is beautiful, my favorite part about weddings here is truly the amazing service! They are so top notch and they made sure everyone was taken care of!

Lauren and Ryan had their dance floor PACKED with friends and family dancing all night long! And of course with a crowd of gamecocks, sandstorm was a HIT! As a gamecock myself, it was so fun to finally be able to photograph a wedding here in NC with sandstorm playing!! They ended their night with a private last dance, and a sparkler exit.

Here are some highlights to look for…

• They shared their first look in the same chapel where her parents got married!
• After their first look, they got to spend some time together, read their vows to one another, and exchange gifts.
• After the ceremony, the Raleigh Trolley transported the bridal party to the reception and it was such a hit!
• Their friends and family gave such great speeches during the wedding, it had everyone laughing and in tears at the same time
• I got to witness a long time tradition of their friends and family called shoot the boot where they drank out of their shoes!! This was a first for me but it was so fun to watch haha
• The 360 photobooth was such a crowd hit! This was the first time I’ve seen one of these!
• Their private last dance was so sweet and they were practically glowing in the dark reception room surrounded by candles.

It was truly such a magical summer day for these two! I could go on and on!! Ryan and Lauren – thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to be your photographer! I have loved getting to know you both more and meet all your friends and family! This day was SO special and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it!
