Fall Wedding at Carolina Grove

Hanna and Tony’s Carolina Grove wedding in Hillsborough, North Carolina was everything a wedding should be – peaceful, joy-filled, and personal. Although these two now call Arizona home, they returned to where their love story first began, right here in North Carolina, to celebrate with the people who mean the most to them, and I’m so glad they did!

They met years ago as undergraduates at UNC Chapel Hill (go Heels!), and their connection has only grown stronger with time. Tony proposed during a beautiful hike in Phoenix, which felt perfectly fitting for a couple who loves the outdoors and exploring together.

Carolina Grove was the perfect setting for their wedding day. Surrounded by towering trees and crisp fall light, the entire day felt relaxed and cozy in the best way. With no bridal party and just a few close friends and family members getting ready alongside them, the atmosphere felt calm, intentional, and so true to who Hanna and Tony are as a couple.

After their heartfelt ceremony, Hanna and Tony made the effort to personally greet each guest during cocktail hour. I love when couples slow down and truly take in their day like this, savoring time with the people who came far and wide to celebrate them. This small act just goes to show how personal and intentional they are as a couple!

Some highlights to look for below:

• Bride and groom portraits during golden hour! The way the light filtered through the trees was absolute magic. I could have photographed these two all evening.
• Fall at Carolina Grove is always stunning, and Hanna and Tony’s florals fit seamlessly into the natural landscape.
• Hanna’s radiant smile during her first look with her dad! You can truly see just how giddy and joyful she was in that moment.
• Heartfelt reception toasts filled with love, including a special and meaningful gift from a close friend visiting all the way from Africa.

Congratulations again to this sweet couple. I loved working with Hanna and Tony. Tony loves photography so for them to choose me as their photographer meant so much!
