Emma and Ian

I am always looking for a reason to go to the beach, and when Emma and Ian mentioned they’d be on vacation in September at one of their favorite places, it was the perfect opportunity to do their engagement photos! I am so excited to share some of my favorites from their Outer Banks engagement photos at Jockey’s Ridge on the blog!

Emma and Ian are just the sweetest couple and I loved getting to know them both more at their engagement session! They currently live in Virginia and love to vacation in the Outer Banks each year. Heading to the beautiful OBX is one of my favorite things to do in NC when the weather turns warmer!

Ian and Emma have known one another for years now and attended George Mason College together. When it was time for them to make the next step, Ian made reservations for a private room at an Italian restaurant in DC. He proposed right there before dinner and she said YES! Emma said it was such a beautiful night, and it felt so private and so THEM!

For their engagement photos, we got to take photos on both the coast side and the sound side. We got the best of both worlds and got to see the most incredible sunset! Jockey’s Ridge State Park is just across the street and it is absolutely beautiful! I have always wanted to take photos here because of the massive sand dunes – so this was SO much fun!!

We started out their engagement session on the beach and walked down to one of the piers. It was such a beautiful and breezy day for photos. For the second half of their session, Emma and Ian did a quick change and we headed over to Jockey’s Ridge. It was a beautiful short walk into the park, and then we climbed up some massive sand dunes to overlook the intercoastal water. It was so much fun to play in the sand and watch the sunset with these two!
