Kelly and Jacob

I am so excited to share some of Kelly and Jacob’s sunrise Topsail Beach engagement photos with you all! The 3am wake up call from Raleigh was worth the beautiful sunrise we got, and it was the perfect way for these two to start off their vacation together.

With the salty breeze in our hair and the sound of waves, every second felt like a scene from a romantic movie. But what truly made this session sparkle? Kelly and Jacob brought along their adorable fur babies! I always welcome engagement sessions with dogs and it was so fun to let these two run around and be free on the beach with them!

As Kelly and Jacob strolled along the shoreline, their pups romped ahead, tongues lolling in sheer joy. From playful splashes to cuddly naps on a beach blanket, their furry companions added extra joy and warmth to our morning, stealing hearts with their boundless energy and wagging tails.

These two met a few years ago during the pandemic at their apartment complex dog park – the sweetest little meet cute ever!!! Now they’re getting married and have two dogs together! They’re planning a big wedding in their hometown, but wanted to sneak away to the beach for photos to showcase their time in NC together.

Sunrise Beach Engagement Photos

I had so much fun getting to know these two at their Topsail Beach engagement session. We laughed and joked so much, and also bonded over our dogs! I also have a german shepherd and golden retriever, so it was so special to be able to photograph another pair together!

The beach can be a tricky place to photograph, but we lucked out with a beautiful sunrise. We had the beach to ourselves and got to watch the sun come up and beyond the clouds. It was so fun getting to be creative and experiment with different kinds of light as it got brighter throughout the session. I loved ending the session with some playful fun in the water too!
