Lydia and Zach

These two recently eloped on a mountaintop with their sweet pup, Annie. Now they’re planning a big celebration at Legacy Stables with their friends and family this summer and I can’t wait to photograph it! I always love getting to do an engagement session with my traditional wedding couples, but since these two are already legally married, we just planned some fun summer couples portraits near their home in Winston Salem!

Lydia and Zach met through mutual friends while they were at App State. He met her the first weekend in Boone just before classes started and have been together ever since! Now they are married and have a beautiful Australian Shepherd named Annie who I was lucky enough to meet at their session!

Lydia is a great planner and had gathered some things to make a picnic during their session. She had a fruit tray on a pottery plate that was special to her family, and all the ingredients to make their favorite cocktail together. Ever since they went to Italy together, they have loved drinking a refreshing St Germain Spritz. I had never heard of this cocktail, so of course I immediately asked for the recipe so I could make it at home!

Couples Portraits at Brookberry Farm

As they enjoyed their picnic, their sweet Annie joined in on the fun, adding an extra layer of sweetness to the day. From playful romps in the grass to snuggles under the shade of a tree, their pup was the perfect companion for their romantic outing.

It’s not often I get to travel to Winston-Salem for couples portraits, but thankfully Lydia knew the perfect place to take photos and I fell in love with it! Brookberry Farm is a large neighborhood and I loved the white barn and patio space they had. It was the sweetest place for a picnic, and even had some safe places for us to take cover during the random rainstorms we got during their session!

It was such a pleasure getting to know Lydia and Zach more before their wedding celebration this August! But for now, here’s some of my favorite engagement photos from their session at Winston Salem at the beautiful Brookberry Farm.
