Lizzie and Josh’s fall wedding at The Farmstead in Mt Pleasant, NC was the most beautiful celebration of love, legacy, and their journey together. This beautiful venue was the perfect place for them to say I Do, and I had the honor of taking their engagement photos, Lizzie’s bridals, and their wedding day photos at this gorgeous property!

These two are both North Carolina natives and first met during their freshman year at NC State (go pack!) while living in Metcalf Hall’s Engineering Village. They started out as friends and by the summer of 2017, they were officially dating!

Fast forward a few years through lots of hikes, travels, and cozy nights cooking together, their bond grew more each day. Josh planned the sweetest proposal at their favorite spot, Beech Mountain. With the help of close friends, he filled their cabin with candles, flowers, and printed memories from all the photo albums Lizzie has made him over the years. Truly one of the sweetest proposals I’ve ever heard!

Fall Wedding at The Farmstead

When it came to planning their wedding, Lizzie and Josh dreamed of a rustic yet romantic venue. The Farmstead was the perfect choice because it looks absolutely magical in the fall. It’s nestled in the quiet countryside outside of Charlotte and is surrounded by wide open pastures and tree lines with the most beautiful leaves. Their wedding day took place on the first weekend of November, right as the leaves were at peak color, wait until you see their portraits!

With nine bridesmaids and nine groomsmen by their side, Lizzie and Josh were surrounded by so much love and energy all day. Their wedding party brought emotional moments during getting ready to dancing the night away during the reception. Their ceremony took place under the open-air pavilion overlooking the fields, and the reception followed in the barn nearby. After sharing their vows, they said I do and were officially married!

Some highlights to look for…

• Lizzie carried multiple special heirlooms with her. Her grandmother’s earrings and a handkerchief on her bouquet made from her grandmother’s wedding dress. It was such a meaningful touch to her details!
• Lizzie did a first look with her bridesmaids, her dad, and Josh, and each moment was so full of emotion.
• They had a full wedding party with nine bridesmaids and nine groomsmen and their energy brought so much joy to the day.
• Their fall portraits at The Farmstead were absolutely stunning, with peak-color leaves and the golden countryside as their backdrop. I will never get over the gorgeous lighting! So grateful for perfect fall weather for them!
• Their fun reception ended with a sparkler exit, and it was the perfect send-off under the stars!

I’ve loved getting to know Lizzie and Josh through both their engagement photos and her bridals at The Farmstead (both are also live on the blog)! Getting to photograph their wedding day was the perfect full-circle moment. Enjoy this beautiful fall wedding at The Farmstead!
