Katie and Luke’s timeless Fall wedding at The Maxwell in Raleigh is one I will always remember. I knew their wedding day would be special after capturing their Downtown Raleigh engagement session. These two have such a natural connection and I couldn’t wait to photograph them again!

They met during law school in Greensboro, where they were placed in the same mentor group. Their chemistry was instant, so much that someone asked if they lived together after only a few days of meeting. That moment says everything you need to know about their bond. Five years later, their connection is stronger than ever. They continue to have their favorite tradition, Pizza Friday, with homemade pizza and martinis – a ritual they’ve kept since 2020. How fun is that?!

Raleigh Wedding at The Maxwell

For their big day, Katie and Luke chose The Maxwell in Raleigh, a modern venue that was perfect for their classic black tie wedding. The elegant white floral designs added a romantic touch to the already stunning venue and this sweet couple exchanged vows in front of the fireplace. While they looked at one another and their loved ones, you could feel the love in every moment. There were so many happy tears!

From the ceremony to the thoughtful details, Katie and Luke’s wedding at The Maxwell was a beautiful reflection of who they are: soulmates.

Here are some highlights to look for…

• Katie’s first look with her bridesmaids, dad and brother (who cried his heart out) – it was incredibly sweet!
• Their STUNNING bride and groom portraits!
• Their gorgeous indoor ceremony in front of the fireplace.
• Their large wedding party! Katie and Luke each had eight of their closest people by their side for the big day.
• Katie’s wedding dress held a piece of her mom’s wedding dress. It was embroidered by her grandmother and sewn into her gown as her “something old and blue.”
• Martinis are one of their traditions, so I had to grab a photo of them holding martinis during the reception! It was such a fun, personal touch that made the day feel even more like them.

This wedding was a beautiful celebration of timeless elegance, love, and the kind of connection that just feels fated. I’m so lucky to have been a part of it. Katie and Luke – thank you SO much for trusting us with the honor of capturing your sweet wedding day! I hope these images continue to bring you back to the moment for years and years.
