Raleigh anniversary photos are always so special to me, but this session with Robbie and Ashley in downtown Raleigh felt especially meaningful. These two are celebrating 10 years of marriage, and to honor the milestone, they planned photos around the Capitol Building and through the streets of downtown. And the best part? Robbie had a surprise planned that Ashley never saw coming!

Ashley is a talented photographer herself, and when she reached out about booking anniversary photos, I was truly honored. There’s something incredibly humbling about having another photographer trust you with their memories. From the moment we started, I could feel how deeply these two love each other and how much they’ve grown together over the last decade.

We kicked things off with classic portraits in their dressier outfits, and the architecture around the Capitol made for the dreamiest, most timeless backdrop. They were so natural together! Giggling, cuddling, and just soaking in the moment. Then came the surprise: Robbie pulled out a brand-new ring for Ashley right in the middle of our session!! After ten years, it was the sweetest, most thoughtful way to celebrate their next chapter.

Afterward, they changed into a more casual outfit, and we wandered through some of my favorite corners of downtown Raleigh. From cobblestone streets to golden hour light, every spot felt like it was made just for them. Their joy, history, and the way they still look at each other after all these years… it was beautiful to witness and even sweeter to photograph.

Whether it’s a wedding, engagement, or milestone like this one, these are the moments that matter most. Robbie and Ashley, thank you for letting me be part of your love story here in Raleigh. Here’s to the next ten!!
