Alison and Nick

I’m so excited to share a recap of Alison and Nick’s beautiful dusty blue fall wedding day at The Merrimon-Wynne house in Raleigh! They had the most romantic blue and white colors, and the florals and greenery were so incredibly dreamy!

Alison and Nick met in pharmacy school in Charleston and have been together for almost six years now. Nick proposed while they were together in Charleston for the weekend and got to celebrate at one of their favorite local Italian restaurants.

After getting engaged they jumped straight into planning their dream wedding day here in Raleigh! They fell in love with the Merrimon-Wynne House, an amazing historic venue in the heart of downtown Raleigh. It was the perfect space for their classic romantic wedding. On my first call with Alison, she mentioned she loves flowers and greenery. Their florist, Hathaway Floral Design, did an incredible job with filling the space with romantic white flowers, bud vases, and greenery.

They had a sunset ceremony on the lawn facing the carriage house with white drapery as their backdrop. I have been to this venue many times before, but this was the first ceremony I’ve seen set up like this and I loved it so much! Right after their ceremony we did portraits before the sun went down. We took portraits on the lawn and then they got a private reception reveal of the space all decked out for their party. It was SO beautiful!

Some of my favorite moments to look for on the blog…

• While getting ready Alison did a first look with her bridesmaids and then her dad. Their reactions were so sweet, and I love the personalized tie she gifted her dad!
• SOPHIE!!! Their sweet lab sophie stole the show by being a dream bonus bridesmaid. I love that they included her in their special day! Their specialty cocktail was also named after her!
• Everything about the color palette was so beautiful! The guys wore dark grey suits and the girls wore dusty blue dresses!
• When Nick finally got to see his bride walk down the aisle – pure joy!
• Their reception had not only an amazing cake, but a huge donut wall for guests to enjoy! Sophie even made an appearance on the cake as well!
• Their reception was so much fun and they had light up foam sticks – which always make for fun dancing photos! Immaculate vibes were had.
• At the end of the night, they had a sparkler exit and joined their guests on the trolley.

Congratulations Nick and Alison! I have loved getting to know you both (and Sophie!) and I am so thrilled for you to experience the joys of marriage! Your wedding day was so beautiful and it was so clear to see that you both are the best of friends. There’s nothing better than getting to marry your best friend!! Thank you so much for having me there to photograph your amazing wedding day and capture such sweet memories for you guys! I hope you enjoy re-living the best day ever through this blog post, and I can’t wait for you to see more soon!
