Jen and Grant

I am so excited to share a preview of Jen and Grant’s beautiful fall wedding day at Walnut Hill!! These two met in law school and have been together ever since. I first met Jen and Grant for their engagement session last fall at Historic Oak View, and they were the sweetest people and had a great sense of humor. I knew their wedding day was going to be fun!

Jen and Grant got married at Walnut Hill, a beautiful estate venue just outside of Raleigh, NC. There are so many beautiful places to take photos at this venue – it’s one of my favorites! There is a large estate house where the wedding party got ready, with separate spaces for the bride and groom. Their ceremony was held outside in the open air chapel with the perfect fall weather.

After their ceremony we took portraits around the property and then did a reception space reveal for the bride and groom. From the moment I arrived, I knew their wedding day was going to be fun and unique because their colors were burgundy and black. The matte black place settings and candles were so beautiful for a moody fall wedding.

Some of my favorite moments to look for on the blog…

• Their invitation suite was designed by the brother of the bride – and it was perfect for their day! I loved getting to style her detail photos with it!
• Jen’s bridesmaids all wore a velvet burgundy bridesmaid dress. I love the texture and deep color!
• Jen and her father shared a first look before walking down the aisle together, always a favorite moment of mine!
• Their ceremony was held in a romantic open air chapel with a view of the pond on the property. I loved this ceremony location!
• Bride and groom portraits will always be a favorite moment of mine, especially around a property like Walnut Hill where we have endless locations! There was a beautiful row of trees with orange leaves that was perfect for fall.
• Jen and Grant buried a bottle of bourbon for the wedding day! This southern tradition is said to help keep rain clouds away – and they had the perfect weather!
• Alllll the gorgeous moody reception details! This color palette is a favorite now!
• Jen and Grant had an amazing exit moment from their reception – with sparklers and a Rolls-Royce!

Congratulations Jen and Grant!!! Thank you so much for having me be a part of your wedding day! I loved getting to meet all your friends and family and getting to celebrate such a special day with you. Here’s a little preview of the best day ever!
