Jess and Allison’s Engagement

I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Jess and Allison’s engagement session! From the moment we arrived at Duke Gardens, I knew their session was going to be so much fun.

Allison and Jess met while Allison was a grad student at Dartmouth and Jess was a field hockey coach there. They quickly fell in love and spent a year doing some of their favorite things: hiking, watching field hockey, taking their dog Honey for long walks, and trying new recipes at home together.

They recently relocated to Durham, NC! Jess proposed to Allison at the Raleigh Rose Garden, surrounded by flowers. Allison returned the favor and proposed to Jess while back visiting Dartmouth where they met a few months later.

They chose to do their spring engagement photos at the lovely Duke Gardens, capturing a beautiful part of their love story in the city where they get to start their lives together! Duke Gardens is one of my favorite local places for engagement photos. With its vibrant flowers, serene ponds, and lush greenery, every corner of the garden was a photographer’s dream.

As Jess and Allison explored the garden hand in hand, their sweet golden retriever, Honey, joined them, adding an extra layer of joy and excitement to the day. I also have a golden retreiver named Honey, so it was so fun to meet theirs and capture them together!
